Important information for the class of 2026
Welcome to Denison!

We hope you and your family are well! As we approach the start of the Fall 2022 semester on August 29, 2022, we want to provide you with a bit of information about the fall semester, arrival process, and the pre-arrival orientation program on the My ISS Portal. We recommend reviewing the information on the 'New International Student,' webpage and the 'Supplement for Students Coming from Abroad.' 

Pre-Arrival Checklist (found on your applicant portal)
  • Receive admissions package containing admission letter and Form I-20 (certificate of eligibility for non-immigrant students) via email
  • Pay SEVIS I-901 fee and print receipt prior to visa interview
  • Apply for a U.S. visa (more information may be found here)
  • Register for June Orientation  (see emails from the First-Year Office - this is where you will work with a faculty advisor and register for your classes)
  • Complete Denison University Housing Preference form
  • Complete Denison University Health Record and Healthcare Provider Examination form (deadline is 30 days of receiving your MyDenison username and we have provided a video on how to upload your forms in the Pre-Arrival Orientation Program on the My ISS Portal)
  • Purchase your flight to John Glenn International Airport (CMH) for arrival on the specified date according the programs you wish to participate in:
    • English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program Arrival Dates:
      August 15 and August 16, 2022
    • Students Coming from Abroad who are attending a Pre-Orientation Program
      Arrival Dates: August 17 and August 18, 2022
    • All Students Coming from Abroad not attending the EAP program or a Pre-Orientation Program
      Arrival Dates: August 22 and August 23, 2022

Pre-Arrival Orientation Request on the My ISS Portal
Please visit the My ISS Portal ( This is your immigration portal that you will use during your time at Denison and beyond. Please navigate to the Pre-Arrival Orientation tab and click on the Pre-Arrival Orientation Request icon and review the Learning Content, complete the questionnaires, and upload your immigration documents (passport, visa - if you have one, I-94 - only available after you enter the U.S.).

Arrival on Campus
The Center for Global Programs will provide airport transportation to first-year international students attending orientation. Please complete the 'Columbus to Denison University Airport Transportation' questionnaire in the Pre-Arrival Orientation Request. Shuttles will be offered on the arrival dates for first-year international students listed above and in the questionnaire. Please continue to monitor your email for important messages regarding the arrival process.

For students who will arrive on their own, please complete the 'Columbus to Denison University Airport Transportation' questionnaire and note that you will arrive on your own. **Please Note: Accommodations are not available prior to your arrival date. Family members are not permitted to stay in residence halls with students. Please use these local resources when planning your visit.

2022/2023 Academic Calendar
  • June 2022 - Course registration for all Denison first-year students arriving in the fall - continue to watch your email for information from the First-Year Programs Office and monitor your Applicant Portal for important updates
  • August 15 and 16, 2022 - Arrival for first-year international students participating in the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program
  • August 17 and 18, 2022 - Arrival for first-year international students participating in one of Denison's Pre-Orientation programs
  • August 22 and 23, 2022 - Arrival for all first-year international students (not participating in the EAP or a Pre-Orientation program)
  • August 29, 2022 - First day of the Fall 2022 semester
